BACKGROUND |
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
I received
a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from San Diego State University
in 1989 and was employed by GM/Hughes Technical Center in Carlsbad,
California. I worked in the Fabrication Research Department
where I was involved with integrated circuit process and product
development. |

I worked at Cymer Technologies
in Rancho Bernardo, California in 1995-96 where I assisted
applications engineers with locating integrated circuit devices
with specified characteristics, usually as replacements for obsolete
parts. I was also tasked with assisting with the development of
test modules, to correspond with the modules of an excimer laser.
I also designed a test lab where I researched, specified, and purchased
the necessary equipment. |

My first opportunity to
work under the title of technical writer occurred in 2001 when
I worked at Palomar Technologies in Vista, California. I
was tasked with developing internal knowledge-management documentation
and worked with design and application engineers to develop content.
I also developed a style sheet and document templates to make it
easier for the engineers to document their work. |

In 2003 I began the Advanced
Certification Program in Technical and Scientific Writing at
San Diego State University. It is a writing-intensive program
and I believe that it has improved my existing abilities and
given me new ones. I completed the certificate in December 2005. |

In 2004 I began the Graphic
Communications program at Palomar College, San Marcos because
I realized that the graphics courses would be a direct complement
and enhancement of my technical communication skills. I completed
an Associates Degree in Electronic Publishing in May 2006. |

EXPERIENCE |
|
|
|
|
|
| |
|
|
|
I have constantly performed technical
communication tasks during the course of my engineering career, because
communicating plans and results to my managers and co-workers is
an important part of every project. |

|
|
I have over five years experience
in technical writing and communication, with particular emphasis
on project development and management, research, writing, and
presentations. My background in engineering gives me the ability
to work with technical equipment, processes, and personnel, in
combination with the ability to effectively develop and communicate
plans, results, and recommendations. |
